Zsolt, leading our mountain guides pursues a wildly successful expedition climbing career... and more is to come. So far he has climbed 8 of the 14 highest peaks in the world and looks to finish them all. When not on an expedition, he guides climbs worldwide, is also a climbing- and ski instructor, speaker and a father.
Here are just some of his notorious achievements:
- In 1993, by the age of only 25, Zsolt becomes a Snow Leopard: a rare title granted to those, who summit the five highest peaks of the former Soviet Union: Podeba (7439 m), Communism Peak (7495), Khan-Tengri (7010 m), Korzhenevskaya (7105 m) and Lenin Peak (7134 m)
- 1997: climbs Satopanth (7075 m) south-wall, Garwhal-Himalaya
- In 1999, Zsolt bags his first 8000 meter peak, Nanga Parbat (8125 m) on a new route, which was a variant of the Messner-route. No supplementary oxygen was used.
- 2000: Distagil Sart (7885 m)
- 2002: Climbs Mount Everest 8848 m, Nepal, normal route and uses supplementary oxygen
- 2003: Climbs Gasherbrum II (8035 m) without supplementary oxygen
- 2005: Attempts K2 without oxygen, gets to 8300 meters. Noone summited K2 that year
- 2006: A no-O2 climb of Dhaulagiri (8167 m)
- 2007: Summited Gasherbrum I. (Hidden Peak, 8068 m) and Broad Peak (8047 m)
- 2008: Climbed Makalu (8463 m) Again, no oxygen
- 2009: Another no-oxygen climb, this time Manaslu (8156 m)
- 2011: After having his right leg amputated after an avalanchce accident in 2010, Zsolt scales his ninth 8000er, Lhotse, 8516 m with an artificial leg. No sherpas above basecamp, no supplemental oxygen.
